Melinda H. Carmen
Location: Barrington, Illinois
Melinda Carmen has been with Manassa, Stassen & Vaclavek, P.C. since 2008. She began her career as a law clerk and returned as an attorney upon admission to the bar in 2010. Melinda concentrates her practice on complex family law matters, including the discovery of hidden assets, the creative division of marital estates, and the preparation of settlement and parenting agreements. She has also been certified in the practice of collaborative law by the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and received a certificate in Mediation from the DePaul College of Law.
As a law student, Melinda focused her education on the litigation of family law and alternative dispute resolution. As an undergraduate, Melinda majored in psychology and co-founded a community outreach program for troubled teens, focusing on alternative dispute resolution methods as a form of restitution and community healing.
Melinda fuses her empathy for the individual with her insight of complex legal matters to fully help clients understand and navigate their legal issues.
