Shawna R. Stassen
Location: Barrington, Illinois
Shawna Stassen has concentrated the entirety of her practice on complex family law matters. She has over 7 years experience representing clients whose cases contain all aspects of family law, including but not limited to support matters, visitation issues, sizeable financial estates, discovery of assets, custody disputes, removal, maintenance, various post-decree matters, and contested divorce litigation. She is also a trained and certified Fellow through the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and has experience representing clients in collaborative divorce.
Shawna graduated from DePaul University College of Law in 2008. Prior to obtaining her law degree, she received her Bachelor of Science as a magna cum laude graduate from Ferris State University in Michigan. Her prior psychology studies have contributed to her ongoing interest in every aspect of family law. She strives not only to represent her client’s best interests, but also to be a source of support to them during such a difficult time.
In addition to her practice at Manassa, Stassen & Vaclavek, P.C., Shawna volunteers through the Northwest Suburban Bar Association as a Court Facilitator to aid and assist Pro Se Litigants who may otherwise be unable to obtain legal representation. She will also be participating in the new Warrior to Warrior Pro Bono Program in which she will represent clients, primarily members of the National Guard and Veterans, in their collaborative divorce.
