Oren Graupe
My practice centers on family, and I know just how important family is. The majority of my legal career, which I owe in equal parts to my wife and to my grandfather, has been in the field of Family Law (including Divorce, Child Support, Paternity, Allocation of Decision-Making and Parenting Time (otherwise known as Custody), and Post-Judgment Modifications) and that is also what I focus my practice on today. I know my clients put family first, focused and dedicated to the best interest of their children, and getting the best possible outcome for them. As such, my clients and their children are my main concern.
I graduated from The University of Rochester in New York, and then The John Marshall Law School in Chicago (now known as University of Illinois Chicago School of Law). After law school, I trained with the Center for Conflict Resolution to become a certified neutral mediator, became a Guardian Ad Litem, and ultimately, a Fellow of Collaborative Divorce Illinois. I feel strongly that the collaborative process is the best and preferred way to resolve a family law case, so I am committed to continue to provide quality services through the collaborative process.
Although I value the benefits of the collaborative method, such as its ability to minimize a family’s suffering from the devastating aftermath of a contentious divorce, I am also very well versed in litigation through the court process.
Clients deserve to be treated with kindness and empathy during this difficult time, and that is my highest priority during representation, along with ensuring my clients are well informed about their case. I know that my clients require reliable legal advice and communication in order to make the often-difficult decisions necessary throughout their case, and they will receive just that.
I, along with our entire firm, am committed to providing my clients with prompt responses and being accessible when needed.
I am honored to have been selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer, Rising Star, by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2017 and 2018, Lawyers of Distinction in 2023 and 2024, and the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, as well as being a Fellow at Collaborative Divorce Illinois, Illinois’ leading and largest Collaborative practice group focused on family law. Our firm is also regularly rated as a Top Ten Family Law Firm in Illinois. These distinctions are limited to the top 5% of lawyers in each practice area and are achieved through multiphase processes that include independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations.
My goal is to use my knowledge of the law and my mediation, litigation, negotiation, and collaboration experience and expertise to provide all of my clients with compassionate, strategic, diligent, and family-focused representation for years come. I understand that when my clients come to me for representation, they are trusting me with the most important things in their life, and I can ensure that I will handle my client’s case in the upmost professional and ethical manner.
I invite you to reach out today—let’s begin a conversation about how I can bring clarity during your life transition and help you through your family law matter.
